Taylor's is a port wine producer from Portugal. The family business was founded in 1692 and is still very successful in producing high quality port wines. Alistair Robertson, chairman of Taylor's, has developed the style Late Bottled Vintage. He was the first to come up with the idea of allowing the port wine to mature in barrels for so long that it is ready to drink immediately after bottling. The Taylor's matures for three years in oak barrels before it is blended and bottled. The port wine is immediately ready for consumption.Tasting notes:Brick red with broad rim. In the nose soft and juicy with ripe berries, caramel, figs, prunes and nuts. In the taste soft and round, a bit opulent. Long lasting, with a strawberry jam finish. You can use the port wine as an aperitif but also as a digestif. It can be served slightly chilled, especially at warm temperatures.
