The Tacama Winery is the oldest wine-growing region in Peru. Since 1520 exquisite grape varieties have been cultivated there and wines have been produced. Only 250 years later the success story of the Piscos began. In 1776 it was prohibited to export Peruvian wine to Spain. At that time, distillation methods were already widespread and also known in Peru. In order to be able to continue trading nevertheless, the wines were distilled and bottled, Pisco was born. Since the ban was valid for wines, Pisco found its way into the society of Europe and of course Peru.Tasting notes:Acholado is a blend of four different grape varieties. Muscatel, Quebranta, Albilla and Torontel, four of the most used wine varieties for Pisco in Peru. All wines are grown, harvested and processed in the traditional growing areas of Tacama. Calm, serenity and a lot of experience are brought into the production process, resulting in a strong and aromatic Pisco Acholado. The grapes used are omnipresent, and the Acholado has a fragrance that radiates from them. It penetrates in all directions and, like its taste, cannot be tamed. The diversity of the grapes helps the Pisco to its universal applicability. Whether in cocktails, like the Pisco Sour, in long drinks or pure on ice cubes.
