Barley, which grows around and in Montana, is known for its high quality. The RoughStock Distillery combines 100% barley malt with fresh water and produces its whiskeys traditionally American. After fermentation, this whiskey is double distilled and is married with other two to five year old distillates. This Black Label bottling is a single barrel version of Montana Pure Malt Whiskey. The production process is exactly the same, but this version is bottled in cask strength and is therefore unadulterated. The fine American white oak dominates the Black Label.Tasting notes:Colour: dark amber. Nose: dark fruit, blackberries, cherries, plums, notes of caramelised bananas, toffee. Taste: Fruity, toffee, dark chocolate, candied orange zest. Finish: Long lasting, sweet, notes of figs.
