The Gesellmann winery is located in Deutschkreuz, in Burgenland. The nearby Lake Neusiedl has a significant influence on the climate in this region. Since 1767, when the winery was first mentioned, it has been passed down from generation to generation. The estate covers 40 hectares. Gesellmann gets its grapes from vines that are up to 80 years old. Tasting notes:Strong ruby garnet in the glass. In the nose very fine and fruity, after dark forest berry confit, black cherries and liquorice. At the palate stoffig, sweetish after heart cherries and cassis. Long lasting with mild tannins in the finish. Grape varieties: 95% Blaufränkisch, 5% St. Laurent. Maturation: 40 months in small oak barrels, 4 months in large oak barrels. Bottling: August 2021. Residual sugar: 1,0 g/l. Acidity: 6,7 g/l. Drinking temperature: 16-18°C. Storage potential: Until 2035. The wine goes perfectly with dark meat and game dishes.
