Only barley from the island of Islay is used for Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013. The barley is grown by six different farms. The farms are located in the following places: Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Cruach and Dunlossit. The malt matures in oak casks for 8 years before bottling. This bottling is already the eighth edition of the Unpeated Single Malt series from Bruichladdich. Distilled: 2013 Tasting notes:Color: Apricot. Nose: Fresh, citrus-honey notes, dried apricots, ripe peaches, marzipan, vanilla bean, hints of spice, oak aromas, caramel, cinnamon, ginger cake. Taste: Harmonious, sweet, soft fruit, lush texture, ripe stone fruit, brown sugar, vanilla, oak. Finish: Long lasting, smooth, after sweet citrus, honey and oak notes.
